This is one of my favorite go-to recipes. The one I make when we are having several guests over for dinner, one I make when I can’t think of anything else to make, and one that the kids will actually devour.
I start by chopping up onions, peppers and mushrooms. In this photo shoot I didn’t have mushrooms, so let’s pretend they are in there. Sauté these in a little bit of olive oil until soft.
Grab a large saucepan and dump your pasta sauce and Alfredo sauce together. Once you stir the sauce, it will look all creamy.
Go go ahead and add the veggies to the sauce pot.
Start frying your bacon, I usually use a whole pack of bacon…oops. 🙂 Once it’s cooked to your liking, drain on paper towels.
I usually start cooking the pasta to allow the bacon a few minutes to cool. Once it’s cool it’s easier to handle and chop.
Chop the bacon and add to the sauce pot.
Now you should have a nice creamy chunky looking sauce.
Thats it! Pour over your favorite pasta. In this case I used bow ties, but it is really great with Radiatore, which really soaks up the sauce. Top with parmesan cheese and serve with a salad and bread. Dinner is served!
