This past Saturday morning, I decided to try out a recipe I ran across on Facebook. I love watching the 20-30 second videos of amazing recipes being thrown down. They literally throw it down too. They already have everything cut up and ready to throw in a bowl or pan. It’s fascinating how fast the videos play. How on Earth do they record them? I have high hopes of making almost every recipe I watch, I end up saving way too many of them and actually make… ummm…..probably 1%.
This particular recipe won by miles on mouth-watering appeal, so I had to try it out. It’s called Cinnamon Roll-French Toast Casserole. – Yes. Amazing. And totally easy to make. The only thing I didn’t have in my fridge at the time was Heavy Whipping Cream. That’s not something we just keep on hand. (Thankfully I have an amazing husband and we only live 2 minutes from Wal-mart).

The French Toast Casserole and Bacon baking in the oven……yes……yummm.
Finished products = Heaven.
If you’re drooling over the pan cooking the bacon, I purchased it at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $30. Totally worth it. It lays across both burners on my gas stove and acts as an “indoor grill”. The pan also has a griddle side if you flip it over, which can be used for pancakes, bacon, etc. It’s a cast iron pan which makes it very easy to clean. I have decided I prefer baking my bacon. I bake it on 400 degrees for around 15 minutes depending on how thin/thick the bacon is. The bacon cooks evenly this way, and drains all the grease away from the bacon, making it a little bit healthier. If you’re like me, you need your bacon to be healthier. I eat way too much of it.
I would definitely make this recipe again. The kiddos loved it.
